Ladies and gentlemen,
As Chairman, it is my privilege to address you today on a bittersweet occasion. I write to announce the well-deserved retirement of Gabriela Gilmore from her esteemed position here at the SCBA.
For over 15 years, Gabriela has served as the Executive Director, steering our organization with unwavering dedication and unparalleled skill. Her departure leaves a void that will undoubtedly be deeply felt by all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.
Gabriela's impact extends far beyond the confines of our organization. She is a luminary in the nonprofit and civic sectors of Dallas, leaving an indelible mark on the Stemmons Corridor and its community members. Her tireless efforts have transformed our community, and her legacy will endure for years to come.
On a personal note, I am honored to count Gabriela as a dear friend. And while I joke that I "ran her off," nothing could be further from the truth. Gabriela's decision to step down is a testament to her commitment to her family and her desire to spend more time with her two teenage daughters. It is a decision that I wholeheartedly support and celebrate.
So, as we bid farewell to Gabriela in her professional capacity, let us also rejoice in the new chapter she embarks upon. May it be filled with joy, fulfillment, and the love of her family. Gabriela, we thank you for your exceptional service, and we wish you all the best in this next chapter of your life.
