SCBA Trinity Levees Business at Lunch Meeting


Over 100 guests gathered at the July 28, 2009 SCBA meeting to hear presentations from the City of Dallas and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Our guest speakers, Liz Fernandez, Gary Zimmerer and Linda Delamare addressed the potential impact of rising flood insurance costs and the effect on business and property owners in the Stemmons Corridor if FEMA is required to release new flood maps for Dallas. SCBA August Public Safety Meeting


Deputy Chief Malik Aziz was our guest speaker at the August 12, 2009 SCBA Public Safety meeting held at MCM Elegante Hotel & Suites. Chief Aziz has been with the Northwest Division for over 2 years and oversees close to 250 police officers in his command. He reported that both violent and non-violent crime is down in the Stemmons Corridor by 7% and 11% respectively. Chief Aziz also discussed the success of the Bait Car Program and police efforts to address homelessness in the area. We appreciate all the officers in the Northwest Division who work hard to protect the Stemmons Corridor and make it a safe place to work and live.
